Hello! :) Welcome to 魂の旋律 (Tamashii no Senritsu), a community of Japanese-English translations and subbed videos of Arashi, figure skating and skaters, and (wherever applicable) a combination of the two! My name's Adette, and I am the sole translator and maintainer of the community. You can find more about me here!

I created this community to serve as a repository for all my translated works, and I would want to share the wonders of Arashi and figure skating with other people. Thus, I do not want to make it difficult for fans to gain access to the community.

Please take note of the rules and instructions on joining below. Failure to do so may mean a delay in processing your application.

On article translations
  1. Translations of magazines and online articles will be PUBLIC. There is no need to join the community to read these.
  2. Do not repost the translations in full, even if credit will be given. Sharing the link to the translation in public is okay.
  3. If reposting part of the translation, please do not alter it without my consent.
  4. Do not use my translations for re-translating to another language.
  5. Do not sell these translations for profit.
  6. I will always strive to translate as close to the original text as possible. However, I cannot guarantee 100% accuracy as there may be certain meanings and connotations lost in the translation process.
  7. In relation to the previous point, please feel free to leave a comment or private message if you spot any errors.

On subbed videos
  1. Entries containing subbed videos will be LOCKED. You would need to be a member of the community to gain access to these.
  2. Do not reupload the videos anywhere, whether in streaming sites or in a private repository.
  3. Do not repost or share entry and/or download links.
  4. Do not sell subbed videos for profit.
  5. Do not claim them as your own, or rip the translations to reencode separately.
  6. Do not use my translations for re-translating to another language.
  7. Posting screencaps of the subbed videos in social media is okay. In case someone asks for the source, please direct them to this community (not the specific post) privately.
  8. I will endeavor to translate as close to the original audio and captions as possible. However, there may be certain meanings and connotations lost in the translation process so I cannot guarantee 100% accuracy.
  9. In relation to the previous point, please feel free to leave a comment or private message if you spot any errors.

On the community
  1. Please treat everyone with respect, whether it be a member of the community or the subject of the translation or subbed video. Bashing will not be tolerated.
  2. Leaving a "thank you" every time you read or download something is not required but is highly appreciated.
  3. Constructive criticism regarding the translations is encouraged! Please feel free to leave a comment or a private message.

Now that that's out of the way, here's how to join:
  1. If you don't have one yet, please create a Dreamwidth account. Currently I will only accept DW users. I'm not strict about post or comment limits so I don't mind empty journals.
  2. Please leave a comment on this entry introducing yourself. There's no word limit, but I would like to know at least your nickname, where you're from, and your fandom (Arashi, figure skating, or even both!). A few words on why you're part of that fandom and your personal faves would also be appreciated! This is so I can get a glimpse of the people interested in joining.
  3. In the same comment, please state at least one rule that leaves an impression on you and why. Again, there is no word limit. This is just for me to check if you have read the rules.
  4. Click "Join" and wait for me to approve!

All comments will be screened, and in case you forget the last step I will reply to your comment to remind you. Leaving a comment on this post is necessary to join, but you don't need to be eloquent. You just need to be genuine. :)

As I run this community on my own and also have a full-time job, processing membership may take a while depending on the influx of requests so please be patient. For any questions, please leave a private message as I would want the comments for this post to be solely for community applications.

Again, thank you for your interest in joining this community. Let's go have some fun!
